AND NORMALLY IN A SHORTER PERIOD.

  • REGISTER* THE eBooks (GC or Gold Classic series do not require codes and registration)

  • ENJOY READING !!

REMEMBER:  You don't need to download a reader, but you do need MS Windows Explorer or Netscape (or if you have a Macintosh, you need to run a Windows PC Emulator).  Color photographs and other art work included in an eBook is easily viewed.

How it works:

  1. First you need a PC (or a Mac that has PC emulation software loaded) and MS Internet Explorer or Netscape.   Please note that the AOT and YA series eBooks will download and lock to the PC, so be sure to download these to the PC used for reading the eBook.  You will be issued a code to unlock the eBook so that it may be read.  A laptop is ideal as you can take it with you anywhere you go.  The codes are sent to the email address you fill in on the Shopping Cart page for Homespun Press, so be sure to type the email address in carefully.

  2. When you find the eBook you want to buy and read, just press the "ADD TO CART" button.  This will take you through several Shopping Cart pages and then direct to PayPal and you pay for the eBook.  We do not see your credit card details nor do we receive those details from PayPal.

  3. Once paid, PayPal will return you, the purchaser, to the Homespun Press website – to the “Thanks” page where you can download the eBooks.  If things go pear shaped, you should receive an email with a late download option that can be enacted for the next 3 days.  Click on the email link and enter the ID and password provided in the email.

  4. After the eBook is loaded onto your PC, just click to open the eBook file which is an “exe” file.  If there is a cover, it will appear for 5 seconds.  If the eBook requires a code, then the registration screen will pop up.  You need to be connected to the internet to register the book.  Enter your name, country, email address and code.  Now the eBook is unlocked and ready for reading.  The book may require an internet connection every so often to verify the code.  If it is a GC (Gold Classic) you can just start reading without registering the eBook.

  5. The eBook viewing window can be sized to any size you want by stretching the sides of the window, the same as you would any other window.  You can make it as big or as small as you wish.  We have presented the eBooks in  easy to read fonts.

Authors of Our Time (AOT)

Homespun Press is proud to present the Authors of Our Time series.  This series is comprised of publications from the world’s current authors.  All of these eBooks hold current copyrights.

At Homespun Press, we believe that authors are fully entitled to well-deserved royalties from their work to encourage them to keep producing affordable eBooks for the consumer.  Because of the ease in copying and sharing most eBooks without paying the author for their work, it is Homespun Press’ mandate to protect these authors’ work by providing security.  This includes locking the eBook to one computer; requiring a code to “unlock” the eBook; and blocking copying and printing abilities to the eBook.  We hope that the consumer will be understanding of these measures and respect the right of the author to earn royalties due them.

Young Authors (YA)

Homespun Press is also proud to sponsor a special program for young authors to encourage their writing abilities and make eBook publishing affordable to those under the age of 18-year-old.  The Young Author Series are published in the same manner as the Authors of Our Time.  There is a limit on how many Young Author publications can be accommodated in a production cycle and Authors of Our Time series do take precedence over the Young Author Series.

Gold Classics  (GC)

Homespun Press presents the Gold Classics series.  This series contains a mixture of time-honoured classics mixed with subjects of general interest.  The eBooks in this series have expired copyrights.  The eBooks are sold at a nominal price so that royalties from this series may be paid to a foundation that is working to preserve this type of book for posterity.  Homespun Press will continue to add eBooks to this series over time.

These eBooks have been "produced" using Homespun Press standard eBook format, but have not been "published" by Homespun Press.  The eBooks in this series have no security and may be printed.  The eBooks have been proof-read by the foundation who produced them and are considered to be of a high standard, but are sold by Homespun Press Limited on an “as is” basis.

Our commitment to the Author –

"To protect the copyright interests of the author by publishing an eBook that readers pay to read."

Homespun Press understands the concern that author’s feel about publishing their books in eBook format and loosing thousands of dollars in royalties by readers passing the eBook on to friends without paying for it.

As such Homespun Press has undertaken to satisfy both author and reader.

The issue with most eBook systems are two-fold.  Either they require equipment or readers to enable them.  "Readers" can be frustrating and require the user to update the "reader" software before allowing the consumer to read the book they have purchased.  Secondly, the eBooks are so easy to acquire that they are easily passed from friend to friend via email and read by anyone having the same type "reader" required and thus deprive the author of rightful income from their work.  The public would not walk into a book store and pick up a book and walk out without paying for it.   eBooks are no different from print books except that the purchaser can receive it faster and easier without leaving their arm-chair.

Homespun Press appreciates the creative work of the author and has undertaken to provide the author with an economical means to publish their work and have it sold exclusively on the Homespun Press website.  We feel this gives the author control over their eBook and a say in what happens to it.

The author’s eBook is downloaded to one computer and cannot be read until a code is entered to unlock it.  Once unlocked, the eBook is locked to that computer.  Because all codes are unique and registered, they can only be used once.  Therefore, if someone copies the eBook to another computer, they will not be able to read it.  A notice will appear advising them where to purchase the eBook should they like to do so.

Homespun Press believes that this method of securing eBooks goes a step further to protecting the author’s copyright and their right to earn an income from their work.  If you, the author, would like more information on how to have your work published in eBook format by Homespun Press Limited, click on the SERVICES menu item on the left of your screen.
